Children's party photography
Children's parties are always so much fun to photograph. From bouncy castles to magicians to entertainers, every party I've been to has been different (so far anyway!).
The most recent was no exception. Hosted at the birthday girl's home, her party was a sleepover. But no ordinary sleepover; they had hired new company, The Little Tents, who transformed the lounge into a glamourous campsite with beautiful boho tents surrounding a centre piece comprising midnight feast hamper, camp rules and memory book, and other treats. Adorned with lanterns, lights and flowers, it was a magical set up for a child's party.
The girls got stuck in straight away, trying on their flower hair garlands, rummaging through the midnight feast hamper, and trying out their face masks.
What was really lovely was that there was no technology in sight. No phones, no smart devices, no TVs. Instead; a relaxing atmosphere for the girls to focus on what's important: making memories with friends.
It was lovely to hear them chatting excitedly, and just being children, without the distraction of the abundance of technology kids have access to now.
I only wish The Little Tents had been around when I was a kid - certainly beats our makeshift camps made up of sheets draped over chairs and a clapped out old torch!
