Engagement photography
Virginia Water Lake
"When you realise you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible" - When Harry Met Sally
I have become a little bit addicted to Instagram. Primarily because of my innate love of photography, but also now because it's an amazing source of inspiration.
Recently, I've seen stunning pictures of couples carefully posed, gazing into the distance in a perfectly executed embrace, often in beautiful, carefully co-ordinated outfits, with stunning light. It takes incredible skill to get these just right. Some of the ones I've seen are masterpieces, frankly.
But for me, engagement photography is about love. Real love. The squidgy, spontaneous kind where you can't get enough of each other, can't hug each other tightly enough. The type that makes you beam from ear to ear.
That's exactly what I think of when I recall this session with this lovely pair. Our location was picturesque Virginia Water lake, where they had their first date. The Autumn sun decided to make an appearance and we had a fun morning walking around the lake, scrambling around The Cascade waterfall, throwing leaves around in the woods that fringe the lake, and generally having fun taking photographs. These two were just so naturally drawn to each other, and are clearly so happy in each other's company, that it made photographing them together easy!
I'm so excited to be photographing their wedding next Summer - it's guaranteed to be full of love. The squidgy, can't stop grinning kind. The kind that leaves you feeling uplifted having spent time with them. And for the photography - that makes the best pictures.
